how a sound grows.
- Drop a sample on the screen. WAV, AIFF, FLAC or Ogg. Twig analyses up to two seconds and draws your sound as a tree.
- Compare. Original plays the analysed sample. Synth plays the rebuilt sound.
- Turn Family and Weird. Twelve families of mutations branch off the tip of the tree. Weird has five steps, from your sound itself to the wildest branch.
- Keep it. The branch becomes the new sound, so you can keep growing from there. Back undoes it.
- Refine searches the sample again and keeps any improvement. New Seed starts a fresh tree.
the knobs change job with the tab.
Pick a tab along the top of the screen and the four knobs take on new jobs. Each page draws what they do: a filter curve, an envelope, echo taps, an oscillator shape.

Detailed
Up to 64 partials with shaped noise and attack detail. Pitch drops follow the source, like a kick falling from 230 Hz to 55 Hz.
Breedable
DNA blends back toward the source. Cross breeds your sound with a second sample.
Self-contained
The patch lives in your session. Reopen the project and it plays without the original file.
